Mario Pende recipient of the Gaston Rousseau Prize from the Académie des Sciences
We are proud to announce that Mario Pende, head of the Cell growth control by nutrients lab, has received the prestigious Gaston Rousseau Prize for his research on nutrient metabolism and its effects on cell growth, proliferation, and senescence. His work has shed light on metabolic changes that explain why senescent cells accumulate fat in lipid droplets rather than using it for cell membrane construction during growth.
