Thomas Worzfeld - Molecular mechanisms of epithelial adaptation and maladaptation to tissue injury

After completing my M.D. at Heidelberg University, Germany, in 2007 with Dr Stefan Offermanns, I worked as Postdoc at Heidelberg University and, starting in 2009, as Postdoc at the Max-Planck-Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim, Germany. In 2012, I became a Group Leader at the Max-Planck-Institute for Heart and Lung Research, before joining Marburg University, Germany, in 2014 as an Associate Professor for Pharmacology. Since 2019, I am Full Professor and Director of the Institute of Pharmacology, Marburg University. At the Medical Faculty of Marburg University, I serve as Vice Dean since 2025.
