Lluis Quintana-Murci - Immune Response Variation Through the Lens of Population and Single-Cell Genomics

After completing my Ph.D. at the University of Pavia (Italy), I joined the Institut Pasteur in Paris as an FRM-funded postdoctoral fellow, with additional research training at the University of Arizona (USA) and the University of Cambridge (UK). Since 2007, I have headed the Unit of Human Evolutionary Genetics at the Institut Pasteur, where I also served as Scientific Director from 2016 to 2017.

My research, which has been funded by the ERC, focuses on the demographic and adaptive history of human populations, particularly how pathogens have shaped the human genome and the genetic and environmental factors driving variation in immune responses, with implications for precision medicine.

Since 2019, I have also been Professor at the Collège de France, and I am an elected member of EMBO, Academia Europaea, and the French Academy of Sciences.
