Major milestone for patients with PROS syndromes in Europe

Congratulations to Guillaume Canaud and the Translational Medicine and Targeted Therapies team at INEM on the European approval of alpelisib for the treatment of PIK3CA-Related Overgrowth Spectrum (PROS), including CLOVES syndrome.

This European authorization follows the results of the EPIK-P3 clinical trial, recently presented in Philadelphia by Guillaume Canaud, and marks a major step forward for patients affected by these rare disorders characterized by abnormal tissue overgrowth.

Alpelisib had previously received FDA approval in the United States in 2022 following the pioneering work led by the team. This new European approval represents an important recognition of years of translational research and clinical efforts aimed at turning scientific discoveries into concrete therapeutic options for patients.

👏 Congratulations to Guillaume Canaud, his team, and all collaborators involved in this major advance for rare vascular and developmental diseases.
