Biosketch

Aleksander Edelman is an Emeritus CNRS Research Director (DR1) working at INEM (Institut Necker Enfants Malades), in Prof. Isabelle Sermet-Gaudelus’s laboratory, on protein misfolding in respiratory epithelial diseases. His research has focused on the basic cellular and epithelial mechanisms underlying cystic fibrosis, particularly CFTR dysfunction and protein misfolding. He is currently also making documentary films related to science and the history of the twentieth century.

Aleksander Edelman est directeur de recherche émérite au CNRS (DR1), affilié à l’INEM (Institut Necker Enfants Malades) au laboratoire de la Pr Isabelle Sermet-Gaudelus. Ses recherches ont porté sur les mécanismes cellulaires et épithéliaux impliqués dans la mucoviscidose, en particulier sur le dysfonctionnement de CFTR et le repliement des protéines. Il réalise également des films documentaires, principalement consacrés à la science et à l’histoire du XXe siècle.
