Revealing cellular programs that shape successful immune activation.

After completing my PhD at the Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) in Vienna, I pursued a short postdoctoral stay at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona before joining the laboratory of Michael Sixt at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) in Klosterneuburg. In 2017, I was awarded the NNF Young Investigator Award and funding through the Returning Experts Program of North Rhine-Westphalia, which enabled me to establish my independent research group at the University of Bonn in 2018. Since then, my lab has focused on elucidating cellular programs that govern effective immune activation, with particular emphasis on cytoskeletal dynamics. In 2025, I was appointed Full Professor at the University of Erlangen, and my group is currently transitioning from the LIMES Institute to the Medical Faculty in Erlangen.
