In 2018, the European Research Council (ERC) awarded Four Starting Grants, one Synergy Grant and two Consolidator Grants to French National Institute for Biomedical Research (Inserm) researchers.
We are proud to announce that Ganna PANASYUK has won the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator award in 2018 to develop her research program at our Necker-Enfants Malades Institute.
With its nine ERC awards, Necker-Enfants Malades Institute is among the leading French biomedical research center that received this distinction in Europe.
Ganna PANASYUK’s project is entitled “Metabolic integration by nutrient SENSing (MetaboSENS)”. Ganna’s team works to establish how nutrient sensing signalling pathways synchronize metabolic activities at cellular and organismal level. Her team aims to discover novel metabolic roles of exceptionally evolutionary conserved enzyme that functions in every eukaryotic cell - the class 3 PI3K. They will expand their fundamental findings on the role of the class 3 PI3K in the physiology to the context of the rare metabolic diseases benefiting from exceptional translational research environment of Necker Hospital Campus. We wish Ganna PANASYUK and her MetaboSENS team all success in this scientific pursuit!
