Bioinformatic Ingenieer in Immunology
The Necker-Enfants Malades Institute (INEM) is a biomedical research centre located on the Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital campus. It is home to numerous state-of-the-art research facilities. The campus has a long-standing reputation for scientific excellence and has made major pioneering contributions to medicine (transplantation, biotherapy, gene therapy). It offers a dynamic environment conducive to basic research and translational innovation.
The host laboratory
The AI2B laboratory, led by Matthieu Mahévas and Pascal Chappert, studies B-cell immune responses in both physiological and pathological contexts.
The project
As part of the DIPP-IMMUNE project funded by the CER, we are seeking a bioinformatician to join the team. The successful candidate will contribute to the analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and Xenium spatial transcriptomics data from human samples, as well as immunoglobulin sequencing data (BCR repertoire), an area in which the laboratory has in-depth expertise. Working closely with the laboratory’s postdoctoral researchers and PhD students, he or she will manage existing analysis pipelines, maintain and expand them to support future developments, and integrate new methods from the scientific literature, tailored to the needs of each project leader.
Your profile
A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, computer science or applied mathematics.
Proven experience in bioinformatics applied to genomic or transcriptomic data, ideally at the single-cell level. Excellent programming skills in R; practical knowledge of Python and a good command of genomic data analysis pipelines, BCR databases (IgBLAST, IMGT, Immcantation), scRNA-seq (Seurat) and spatial transcriptomics.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to present scientific results clearly and concisely.
A genuine interest in biological questions and the ability to work closely with biologists.
Team spirit, good listening skills and a proactive approach, as well as the ability to work independently.
