New publication from Veronique Baud group in Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Reasearch

The group led by Véronique Baud focusing on the research axis “NF-kB, Metabolism, Immunity and Cancer” in the Cell Growth Control by Nutrients team, led by Mario Pende at INEM, published a review on how targeting lipid metabolism represents a new strategy to surmount treatment resistance in aggressive lymphomas: Harnessing lipid metabolism to surmount treatment resistance in aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma (aNHL): from regulatory networks to novel therapeutic opportunities.

Treatment resistance is a major clinical challenge in aNHL with resistance against chemotherapy, targeted agents, immune checkpoint blockade, and CAR T-cell therapies. In this work, the authors discuss lipid metabolism as a downstream convergence node within the broader treatment resistance network in aNHL. They also examine therapeutic opportunities offered by lipid-modulating agents, especially clinically established drugs.

Therefore, by combining available preclinical findings with clinical and translational evidence from related disease setting this review provides a practical reference framework for future aNHL studies and may accelerate clinical evaluation of lipid metabolic targeting as a feasible approach to overcoming treatment resistance.
