Jean-Emmanuel Sarry is a Team Leader at the Cancer Research Center of Toulouse (France) and a Principal Investigator in Hemato-Oncology and Metabolism at the French Health Institute (Inserm). Dr. Sarry received his PhD degree in Biochemistry from the University of Montpellier.  He also completed his postdoctoral training in Plant and Yeast Metabolism at the Department of Plant Physiology (CEA, Grenoble, France) and the Department of Biology (University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia). After studying the phenotypic heterogeneity of leukemic stem cells in acute myeloid leukemia at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, he joined the Cancer Research Center of Toulouse. The major focus of the Sarry lab is studying the role of oncometabolism in therapy resistance -especially how mitochondrial adaptations are implicated in the emergence and persistence of drug tolerant clones- of acute myeloid leukemia, using a combination of biochemistry, omics approaches and innovative preclinical models.

Seminar Topic: Mitohormesis and metabolic adaptations in response to therapeutic stress in acute myeloid leukemia
