INEM
International Symposium

From Integrative Biology to Molecular Medecine

13-14 February 2020

About the Symposium

The Symposium « From Integrative Biology to Molecular Medicine » is organized to inaugurate the new building of the School of Medicine housing the research Institute Necker-Enfants Malades (INEM), at the campus of Necker Hospital in Paris.

The goal of the Symposium is to illuminate the exceptional scientific landscape of fundamental and translational research on the Necker Hospital campus, located on the perimeter of the School of Medicine, at the University of Paris. The frontline translational research conducted on the Necker campus encompasses fields of metabolism, immunology, microbiology and infectious disease, endocrinology, cardiology, nephrology and cancer. These research domains span from fundamental to clinical studies, pioneering new state of the art therapies. To celebrate this festive occasion, and to highlight the extraordinary position of the Necker Hospital campus, we have reunited 17 internationally recognized leaders in these scientific domains. Notably, Alain Fischer (Collège de France, Paris) will deliver a keynote lecture and Jean-Claude Weill (National Academy of Sciences) will give a closing talk for the Symposium.
The Symposium aims to bring together researchers and clinicians and will also provide an opportunity for young researchers (PhD students and post-docs) to communicate with these professionals. To facilitate networking, the session « Meet the speaker » will be organized aiming to provide a unique opportunity to discuss with leaders in the field.
During the Symposium special emphasis will be placed on:
  • Growth and metabolic control
  • Tissue Homeostasis and Cancer
  • Infection and immunity
  • Integrative physiology and aging
