The Host-Microbiota Laboratory of Dr. Pamela Schnupf at Institut Necker Enfants Malades in Paris, France, is looking for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow to take on an exciting frontier-breaking project to develop genetic manipulation techniques and a vaccination platform for an unusual and still enigmatic immunostimmulatory anaerobic gut commensal important in both health and disease. The project builds on promising previous work in the lab and the development of a novel in vitro growth conditions for this bacterium using a simulated intestinal environment. The laboratory is comprised of enthusiastic, diverse and international group of researchers with projects ranging from microbiology, structural biology, cell biology to immunology.
The lab is looking for a highly motivated, self-driven, independent and creative postdoctoral fellow with strong organizational, writing and communications skills and expertise in microbiology, bacterial genetics, molecular biology and cell biology. Previous experience in gnotobiology, bacterial pathogenesis and immunology would be beneficial. The candidate is expected to speak and write English fluently, to easily work in a multicultural and multilingual environment, be passionate about science and actively participate in scientific discussions and creative problem solving.
A competitive postdoctoral salary in accordance with the applicant’s previous research experience is offered for one year with the possibility for extension of an additional three years.
